Aly Raisman to Be A Dancing Star

The announcement of the next Dancing With the Stars season is coming up. While the cast has yet to be officially announced, Aly Raisman has joined the cast.

The official announcement will be on Good Morning America on Tuesday, February 26. After the Olympics, Aly has expressed interest in doing the show. 2008 Gold and Silver Medalist, Shawn Johnson and her partner Mark Ballas won the mirror ball trophy and was on this past season's "All-Stars" edition. She came second to former Bachelor contestant, Melissa Rycroft.

I'm excited for this. I loved watching Shawn on DWTS and I think that DWTS needs to have more gymnasts on their show. I wouldn't mind seeing Danell Leyva dancing shirtless in the ballroom... Just sayin...

My suggestion for Aly's partner, Mark Ballas.  Mark won the trophy with Shawn and Kristi Yamaguchi, so he knows how to work with Olympians!

Joining Aly so far are current Bachelor Sean Lowe and Celebrity Chef, Bobby Flay. I guess we will have to wait until Tuesday to find out the rest of the cast!

Since this is a gymnastics blog, this article will focus on bad asses in the sport of gymnastics, particularly women in gymnastics. These women are tough for their perseverance, their bravery, and just generally being awesome.
