Georgia @ Utah Live Blog

Now we head to Utah where they host Georgia. They're two former rivals with both teams having 10 national titles under their belts, although 1 title of Utah's was before the NCAA was the official body over collegiate gymnastics. Greg Marsden has retired and Suzanne Yoculan has retired and come back as a volunteer assistant coach to Courtney Kupets Carter. And even though it's senior night, there's going to be drama around the gymternet about something. Because Utah. But, keep your tissues and waterproof mascara handy, because I'm sure you'll cry at Maddy Stover's last beam routine in the Hunstman Center. Power Rankings - The Procrastination Edition

Welcome to Power Rankings! First one of 2018. This is where I recap the most interesting parts of the week of competition and stack them against each other. This isn't real team rankings. This is ranking the newsworthy and the interesting stuff that goes on during the week. We now have two weeks of NCAA gymnastics under our belts, all the teams have shown up in competition. There was drama, tears laughter, falls and crazy scoring! I'm a total procrastinator, so I missed the first week (sorry). So this is the procrastination edition. Since I put this off for a couple of weeks, this might be short. (sorry) Let's discuss!

Georgia @ Alabama Live Blog

This meet features two powerhouse teams in the SEC and the NCAA. These are legendary programs and two former and maybe current rivals with a legendary list of accolades between them. Over the past year, Georgia had some big shake-ups, bringing in Courtney Kupets-Carter, former Olympian, NCAA Champion and Georgia Gym Dog as head coach. Along with her came former head coach, Suzanne Yoculan as the volunteer assistant coach. This is operation Make Georgia Great Again and this is their first meet of the season. Alabama had a rough opening meet at Michigan last week, struggling on beam and floor. They're eager to pretend last week didn't happen. However, they did have strong performances. Freshman and former elite, Kylie Dickson showed a beautiful bars set with lovely lines and huge releases. Lexi Graber also showed a solid start to her college career, showing the second highest score on beam last week in the midst of a beam meltdown. Refresh the page every 5 minutes or so f...

Updates NCAA Gymnastics - Gymternet News Cycle July 20, 2017

I'm back! I've had to deal with those adult issues (money, cars, careers, a wrist injury) that rear their heads up and demand that I pay attention to them. Lame. Enough about adulting and me. Here's some NCAA Gymnastics goings on from what I'm going to call the Gymternet News Cycle. News Brief 1 - Georgia is Reinstating the gymnasts Durante randomly suspended/dismissed

Danna Durante Fired From Georgia

The drama in Athens continues as head coach Danna Durante has been fired. On Sunday, the Red and Black student newspaper, stated that a source had said Durante was being let go and by Monday, the university confirmed it. The news comes on the heels of the announcement that three gymnasts had ben set free from their roster. After having a really rough start to their season, and then falling apart at NCAAs, finishing a mere 12th out of the 12 teams, their lowest finish since 2010 when they missed out on making nationals all together, placing 13th. Jay Clark was head coach at the time, and he resigned a couple of years later and in 2012,  Durante took the reins.

Goings on and Such - NCAA Gymnastics Edition

Today in the world of NCAA gymnastics we have Amanars being thrown and some light "team restructuring." - Ashleigh Gnat just casually throws an Amanar... Because why not?

The 2017 NCAA gymnastics season is starting tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 6th.  Oh it's the best time of the year. Tons of great gymnastics every week. Here is a preview of what is to come this weekend. The meets are all listed on this page and when applicable, links for live scoring and broadcast/streaming are provided.  Friday Jan. 6th -  #10 Georgia @ # 2 LSU - 7 ET/ 6 CT/ 5 MT/ 4 PT This is an SEC powerhouse match-up. Georgia has a legacy behind them, with 10 NCAA titles under their belt. LSU came in 2nd last year behind Oklahoma, their best finish ever.
