Favorite Routines: Henrietta Onodi, Balance Beam

This Favorite Routines edition is featuring Henrietta Onodi on the balance beam.

Henrietta's name is mostly associated with the Onodi flic flac on balance beam. For those who may not know what I am talking about, this skill is a backhandspring with a half twist to a walkover on balance beam. Nastia Liukin does this skill, so does Aliya Mustafina, Catalina Ponor and Larisa Iordache, just to name a few.

I love the Onodi skill, it's got to be my favorite skill on balance beam, it's just so beautiful to watch. Henrietta, the skill's originator, is just beautiful to watch on beam in general. Her lines are so beautiful and extended and she just floats on the beam and she makes it look so easy.

This is at the 1990 Chunichi Cup in Japan.

These women are tough for their perseverance, their bravery, and just generally being awesome.
