Favorite Routines: Daria Joura; Floor Exercise

This edition of Favorite Routines features Australian gymnast, Daria Joura aka Dasha on floor exercise at the 2007 American Cup.

Daria has a story very similar to Nastia Liukin. She was born in Russia and moved to Australia with her parents as a young child when her father accepted a job at the Western Australian Institute of Sport. She spent most of her time in the gym as a child with her gymnastics coach parents.

Daria is such a joy to watch on floor exercise. She is so adorable, she always has a huge smile on her face and she would play to the camera and the audience in her routines. At the American Cup, Daria debuted a floor routine to "Assasin's Tango" by John Powell. Watch as the girl from Oz wins over the American audience. She even has NBC's gymnastics commentary trio, Tim Daggett, Elfie Schlegal and Al Trautwig totally captivated as evidenced by their total silence during her performance.

These women are tough for their perseverance, their bravery, and just generally being awesome.
