Injury Round-Up: Ksenia Afanasyeva and Lexie Priessman Undergo Surgery

A couple of days ago, Ksenia Afanasyeva made a statement saying she was to under go surgery on her leg, via her VK account (Russia's version of Facebook). Just on the cusp of this announcement, it was reported Lexie Priessman of Cincinnati Gymnastics will under go surgery as well.

Ksenia had surgery for an injury she sustained some two or so years ago. Of course, this is on the heels of the announcement of her being on the World Team for Russia.  It won't have any major bearing on her ability to recover in time for Worlds.

Lexie, a first year senior on the US National team had withdrawn from the P&G Championships a couple of weeks ago due to her straining her Achilles tendon. The surgery she's getting is for an injury on her toe, which per Gymnastike, she's dealt with by taping her toes together.
