No Worlds For Komova

It was officially confirmed today the Viktoria Komova will not be representing Russia at the 2013 World Championships after all.

According to Russian Gymnastics, she posted on her Instagram account that she was feeling under the weather. Later, she posted on her VK account that she was not going to appear at Worlds after all, citing her doctors told her she needed to rest for another full month.

Viktoria had been dealing with a case of viral meningitis and had been in the hospital for over a week. Earlier this week, the FIG released the nominative list for Worlds and Viktoria was listed to compete on beam. While it is unfortunate for Vika that she will not be at worlds, this seems like the best decision for  her health to sit out Worlds.

The question still remains with Ksenia Afansyeva and Viktoria Komova both off the team, who will the  fourth gymnast on the Russian team? Will there be a fourth gymnast? Will Grishy get the justice she deserves? Will Benson find out? Will Benson care?*

These women are tough for their perseverance, their bravery, and just generally being awesome.
