USA Confirms World Team

After this weekend's worlds selection camp, USA Gymnastics had named their official team for the World Championships later this month.

They are as follows:
McKayla Maroney
Kyla Ross
Simone Biles
Brenna Dowell

No surprises there. A couple of weeks ago, the FIG released the nominative list for worlds and the same four athletes were listed for the US.

Simone, Kyla and McKayla were pretty much guaranteed a spot and the fourth had been widely debated. With Brenna's strong showing at Nationals, it's no surprise that she was chosen to that fourth spot. One can't help but wonder if seeing her name on the nominative list for USA gave her the motivation to make sure her performances at camp kept her name on that list.

Elizabeth "Ebee" Price was named as a non-traveling alternate to the team.
