Favorite Routines: Elvira Saadi; Floor Exercise, 1973

Elvira Saadi is one of many prominent gymnasts to come from the former Soviet Union.

She was a gold medalist with the Soviet Team in 1972 and 1976. For the past 22 years, Saadi has resided in Canada where she is now an elite coach. Her most notable pupils include Victoria Moors and Oregon State Gymnast, Maddie Gardiner. The gymnasts she coaches are known for their unique skills and presentation.

Watch this floor routine from 1973 and you'll know why her gymnasts have such beautiful artistry and presentation.  Saadi's routine is everything from strange to stunningly beautiful. This routine is unique. It was unique for it's time back in 1973 and it's unique now.
