Promotional Photos of the Bones McKayla Maroney Episode "A Spark in the Park"

McKayla Maroney is going to sparking up primetime television this weekend.

Some stills from the Bones episode featuring McKayla Maroney have been released. The episode, titled "The Spark in the Park" features McKayla as a friend of the victim of the week, a nationally ranked gymnast and McKayla looks like the prime suspect, a friend of the victim.

The photos show Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz), speaking with McKayla's character during practice. In true USA Gymnastics fashion, McKayla is wearing the signature hot pink leotard.

The first photo, McKayla's character is clearly being informally questioned by the pair and a man (whom I'm assuming is McKayla's TV coach). Bones and Booth both have their arms crossed and on Booth's face, he's got the beginnings of the Not Impressed face.

Next, McKayla showing everyone the bubble gum hot pink leo (clearly someone on their costume staff is a gymnastics fan).

Next, McKayla is being approached by her coach and either Bones or Booth.

And for your pleasure, here is the official episode description from the show website:

"The Jeffersonian team investigates the murder of a nationally ranked gymnast, whose remains were hit by lightning and scattered throughout a public park. Although evidence points to a fellow gymnast (guest star Maroney) as the key suspect, Brennan and Booth discover the victim was leading a double life. Meanwhile, Booth gets upset when Brennan shows surprising empathy for the victim's father (guest star Schiff), and Cam confronts the woman who stole her identity."via fox.com
The episode will air this Friday at 8/7 central. For non-US viewers, it will be online the day after the episode airs.

Gymnastics Biggest Bad-Asses

While listening to a podcast about badass people (nearly all of whom were men), I decided it was time to celebrate the badass-ness of women. Since this is a gymnastics blog, this article will focus on bad asses in the sport of gymnastics, particularly women in gymnastics. These women are tough for their perseverance, their bravery, and just generally being awesome.
