Mary Lou Retton Appears in A Super Bowl Commercial

Gymnastics has found a way to infiltrate the Super Bowl.

1984 Olympic All-Around Champion, Mary Lou Retton was featured in a commercial for Radio Shack and their rebranding effort.
The commercial starts out with a couple of guys working at the Radio Shack when the phone rings. One guy asks the other guy who it was, he responds, "It was the '80's, they want their store back." Cue the flood of '80's icons, including Hulk Hogan, Eric Estrada, Jason from the Friday the 13th movies, Alf and most importantly Mary Lou Retton.

Gym fans were stunned and thought it was a fake Mary Lou, but it was the real deal as Mary Lou herself confirmed via Twitter.

Dang woman, you put the leo and the wig on and it's as if no time has passed. But I must say, maybe they should correct that leo to the 1984 leo and not the 1996 Mag 7 team final one. Just saying.....

These women are tough for their perseverance, their bravery, and just generally being awesome.
