Air Force Gymnastics Teams Safe

After being on the verge of being cut, the men's and women's gymnastics teams at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, are safe.

Air Force Academy superintendent, Michelle Johnson, said in an article in the Colorado Springs Gazette that sports were essential in the AFA's mission of building character and leadership. Although no sports were cut, the athletic department eliminated 30 positions from the athletic department.

The proposed budget is still pending approval from congress for the 2015 fiscal year. For more information visit: Gazette.com: All Sports Survive Air Force Budget Elimination.
