Ksenia Afanasyeva Preparing For Euros

Good news coming from Russia. Ksenia Afanasyeva has resumed training after her ankle surgery.


The European Floor Champion is back to training and is planning on making her comeback at the European Championships this spring. Last fall, Ksenia needed to have ankle surgery to repair an old injury. However, the surgery  was not successful and she flew to Germany to have a second surgery on her ankle.

According to sports.ru, Ksenia is training floor exercise and vault. Russian head coach Valentina Rodionenko said Ksenia would be doing these two events at Euros.

The European Championships are being held this year in Sofia, Bulgaraia, May 12-18. The Russian National Championships will proceed the Euros and serve as a qualifying event for the Euros. However, Ksenia will miss the Russian Championships, March 31- April 6 in Penza.
