The Wait is Over! USA Gymnastics Announces 2014 World Team

After a long anticipated wait and a selection camp, USA Gymnastics has announced their 2014 World Championships team.


As expected, the two locks, 2013 World Champion Simone Biles and World silver medalist, Kyla Ross made the team. Also landing a spot after her impressive performance at the Pan Ams, MyKayla Skinner of the one handed Cheng fame made the team.

The team is as follows:

Alyssa Baumann, Plano, Texas/WOGA
Simone Biles, Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre
Madison Desch, Blue Springs, Mo./GAGE
Madison Kocian, Dallas/WOGA
Ashton Locklear, Huntersville, N.C./Everest Gymnastics
Kyla Ross, Aliso Viejo, Calif./Gym-Max
MyKayla Skinner, Gilbert, Ariz./Desert Lights


Brenna Dowell will be the non-travelling alternate.

The World Championships will be held in Nanning, China, October 3-12. More details on the event to come later.
