Worlds Full Qualification Results

After two full days of competition in Nanning, China, world qualification results are out.

Team USA is of course leading the pack, qualifying first to the team final over four points up on Team China, with Aliya Mustafina and team Russia in third. Team Great Britain is on the cusp and of course will be looking to  inch their way onto the medal podium after winning the silver medal at the European Championships earlier this year.

Team USA is also leading with Simone Biles qualifying first in the all-around ahead of  the glorious Aliya Mustafina of Russia and Larisa Iordache of Romania. She's qualified to the vault, beam and floor finals. Queen Aliya has qualified to the all-around, bars, beam and floor finals.

Simone's teammate Kyla Ross, and last year's silver medalist in the all-around qualified again for the all-around final. She just missed qualifying for the bars final, but qualified for the beam final.

The results are all for  women's gymnasts since that's mostly what I focus on. All results are VIA the Couch Gymnast.

Gymnastics Biggest Bad-Asses

While listening to a podcast about badass people (nearly all of whom were men), I decided it was time to celebrate the badass-ness of women. Since this is a gymnastics blog, this article will focus on bad asses in the sport of gymnastics, particularly women in gymnastics. These women are tough for their perseverance, their bravery, and just generally being awesome.
