A Compilation of Gymnastics Haikus

Since I had some free time post holidays, I decided to compile some gymnastics haikus.
If you don't know what a haiku is, it's a poem with five syllables on one line, seven the next and five the last.

On Jordyn Wieber:

No Rio for Jordyn
Gymternet sadness is for all
Gabs and Aly alone

On Aliya Mustafina:

Queen Musty reigns Russia
With ugly triple twists and
glorious Onodi

On Brenna Dowell

Brenna Dowell in NCAA
At Oklahoma she will do bars
And bring tens for OU

Ksenia Afanasyeva's got one too
Afan on the floor ex
She tumbles with perfection
A gold medal she wins

Bailie Key

Bailie Key wins all
Not a medal she has not won
Wait till she's senior

Simone Biles

Simone is world champ
All around beam and floor ex
Is she new Kohei

Kyla

Kyla is so clean
Consistent and steady they
say she  won't upgrade

Team USA

Team USA wins
them all in Nanning China
The gold medals all shine

King Kohei

Kohei the king of MAG
Wins seven gold medals. Who will
beat the king of gym?

Gymnastics Biggest Bad-Asses

While listening to a podcast about badass people (nearly all of whom were men), I decided it was time to celebrate the badass-ness of women. Since this is a gymnastics blog, this article will focus on bad asses in the sport of gymnastics, particularly women in gymnastics. These women are tough for their perseverance, their bravery, and just generally being awesome.
