January Training Camp: Maddie Desch

I'm super late in posting this and for that, I apologize.

Here is 2014 Worlds team member, Maddie Desch training at the Ranch for Team USA's January training camp.

She's shown adding some upgrades on bars and some new connections on beam and floor. Here is what I saw:

Maddie is training a Ricna on bars. Very lovely. I love her toe point and her lovely Gage lines. She's also training a Stalder full to Chow half (straddle Stalder Shaposhnikova with half turn) which is worth 0.10 in connection values.

On beam, she has a very pretty mount sequence that requires her to be low to the beam and it also shows off her flexibility.  She is training a Wolf jump to front tuck, in that order.  This is a pretty sweet combo. Usually, we see gymnasts do the series in the opposite order, so it's nice to see something a little different.

Since this is a gymnastics blog, this article will focus on bad asses in the sport of gymnastics, particularly women in gymnastics. These women are tough for their perseverance, their bravery, and just generally being awesome.
