US Gymnast Maddie Desch has made a commitment.
The 2014 World Champion with the US team has chosen to commit to the University of Alabama on a gymnastics scholarship. She announced it yesterday via her Twitter account.
The seventeen-year-old trains at Great American Gymnastics Express, better known as GAGE, under the tutelage of famed coaches, Al and Armine Fong. Maddie was a part of the 2014 World Championship team that took home the gold medal. She also took home another team gold at the Pan American Championships earlier in the year.
Maddie will be in good company. Former GAGE gymnast, 2004 Olympic Silver medalist and USA Gymnastics athlete rep, Terin Humphrey attended Alabama and competed for the Crimson Tide gymnastics team before retiring in 2008.
Best of luck to Maddie!
