Marvin Sharp Found Dead in His Prison Cell - Suicide Suspected

Elite gymnastics coach Marvin Sharp was found dead in his jail cell last night, the result of a suspected suicide.

Sharp was being held at the Marion County Jail in Indianapolis, Indiana awaiting child molestation charges after being arrested last month for child molestation charges against one of his students.

13 WTHR Indianapolis reports Sharp was discovered unresponsive in his cell Saturday evening as the result of an apparent suicide. According to 13 WTHR, Sharp was facing federal charges on top of charges of child molestation.

Sharp coached Olympic Medalist and NCAA and World all-around champion, Bridget Sloan through her elite career. He also coached Bridget's Olympic teammate, UCLA Bruin and 2015 NCAA co-all- around champ, Samantha Peszek after her coach retired.

If you want to find more about the accusation against Sharp, 13 WTHR has detailed them in this article. I'm not detailing them on this site.
