Laurie's Dancing With the Stars Debut

Olympic Gold Medalist Laurie Hernandez made the transition from the floor exercise to the ballroom on Monday night's premiere of Dancing With the Stars.

Laurie and her dance pro partner, Val Chmerkovsky made their debut dance the cha-cha to "American Girl" by Bonnie McKee.

Laurie, always effervescent was all smiles on the dance floor, in a sparkly mini, she shows off her flexibility and she lights up the dance floor. She's just at home on the ballroom floor as she is on the gymnastics floor.

Laurie and Val have an adorable "meet cute" in the gym where Val gushes over Laurie and Laurie bounds across the floor with joy to meet her new dance partner.

Off to a promising start, Laurie and Val scored a 31 out of a possible 40 points, tying with James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess for the top score.
