All About Regionals

Today, the top 36 NCAA Gymnastics teams will go head to head for a spot at the NCAA National Championships April 17-19. The teams have been seeded into "regionals" (not so much based on their region, but based on their rankings) based on their regional qualifying score or RQS. The top two qualifiers from each of the six regionals will go onto NCAA's in Dallas. So much gymnastics, this is what Spencer at the Balance Beam Situation is calling Gymnastics Christmas . I've gone through and to the best of my abilities,  I have picked my selections for the teams who will qualify out of their regional.  I have no real scientific analysis of who will win, so don't use my guesses to win money in Vegas... if they actually bet on gymnastics in Vegas.

Fun With Photoshop: NCAA School Colors Edition

I got bored and I have a free trial of Photoshop on my computer so I thought I'd play around with it a bit. Since NCAA season is over, I decided to make some edits of school leotards. Mostly, I took pictures and I manipulated the colors to be the school colors of some top gymnastics schools.

NCAA Event Finals: A Small Army Take Home Titles; Katherine Grable Takes Two Event Titles

It was the weekend of the tie. Two teams tied for the NCAA national title, and as a result of ties, a small army took home titles during the event finals.

Rheagan Courville's Beautiful Beam Skills

Rheagan Courville is one of many standout athletes competing in the NCAA. Rheagan is a senior at Louisiana State University and one of their many standouts. Tumblr showed me these GIFs of her training a standing Arabian and a forward aerial walk over on beam.  While the NCAA gymnastics program has been criticized for not having a high level of difficulty, it's a place to see beautifully executed skills.
