NCAA National Champs - Is it 2018 Yet?

The NCAA Gymnastics Championships has concluded for 2017. Thus begins the void between the end of NCAA season and the start of elite season heading in to world championships. I have been in St. Louis last weekend catching all the action. We're still 8 months out from the start of NCAA season in 2018, so lets take some time to recap real quick and provide some closing thoughts.

Oklahoma @ Cal Live Blog

Welcome back! Tonight, I'm following the Oklahoma at Cal meet. It's the last meet of the regular season before Conference Championships for these two teams. I haven't been able to watch Oklahoma too much this season because Comcast doesn't carry the channel the Sooners are broadcast! Anyways, refresh the page every few minutes for updates.

NCAA Gymnastics 2017 Power Rankings Week 2

Week 2 is officially in the books! Which means it's time for my weekly power rankings! These aren't the official Road to Nationals rankings, rather they are stories and people that have caught my attention throughout the week, whether it be note-worthy events or a reaction to something. Last week's power rankings were: 1. The Power Freshmen 2. The Judge at the LSU/Georgia meet who had to do everything 3. LSU & Oklahoma - Egregious home scoring or peaking too early? 4. Guys, I think we broke Georgia Without further adieu, here is this week's power rankings:

UCLA @ Oklahoma Live Blog

UCLA travels to Oklahoma for their second meet of the season and Oklahoma is at home two weeks in a row. This is going to be the battle of the elites, Olympians Kyla Ross and Madison Kocian versus fellow elites and world champs, Maggie Nichols and Brenna Dowell. I'm here providing you all the good, juicy details, so refresh the page every few minutes for all the info.

NCAA Gymnastics 2017 - Week 1 Preview

The 2017 NCAA gymnastics season is starting tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 6th.  Oh it's the best time of the year. Tons of great gymnastics every week. Here is a preview of what is to come this weekend. The meets are all listed on this page and when applicable, links for live scoring and broadcast/streaming are provided.  Friday Jan. 6th -  #10 Georgia @ # 2 LSU - 7 ET/ 6 CT/ 5 MT/ 4 PT This is an SEC powerhouse match-up. Georgia has a legacy behind them, with 10 NCAA titles under their belt. LSU came in 2nd last year behind Oklahoma, their best finish ever. No doubt they're looking to finally get that coveted NCAA title that has eluded them. Georgia should put up a good fight, but LSU is at home and they haven't lost at home since before Facebook existed. But who can remember a time before Facebook, am I right?

Maggie Nichols Training Bars and Beam at Oklahoma

After retiring from elite, World Medalist Maggie Nichols is preparing for the next phase of her gymnastics career: college gymnastics. Maggie has made the trek to Oklahoma from her hometown of Little Canada, Minnesota. Today, she posted a video of herself training bars and beam with her new team on her Instagram account for National Gymnastics Day.

Oklahoma @ UCLA Live Blog

It's the showdown we have all been waiting for. UCLA versus Oklahoma, one beam team takes on another. Last weekend, UCLA lost at Pauley Pavillion for the first time like, ever when they hosted Stanford and Georgia. Oklahoma has been almost unbeatable, sans the loss at LSU in the first week of the season.  Will Oklahoma crush UCLA's dreams or will they rise to the occasion. Refresh the page every few minutes or so to find out!

Things to Look Forward to in 2016: NCAA Season

The most timely of things you can look forward to this year is the wonderful, gymnastics filled four months of the year we call NCAA season. The best part is, it starts tomorrow! So why do we love NCAA Gymnastics? Here are three of many many reasons:

2015 NCAA Gymnastics Regionals- National Qualifiers, Triumphs, Upsets and Surprises

Regionals happened. Eight straight hours of gymnastics from two o'clock in the afternoon till about ten at night. There were tears, screaming, punching and hitting things. So were my predictions head on? Should I go take my special skills to Vegas or should I keep my day job?

All About Regionals

Today, the top 36 NCAA Gymnastics teams will go head to head for a spot at the NCAA National Championships April 17-19. The teams have been seeded into "regionals" (not so much based on their region, but based on their rankings) based on their regional qualifying score or RQS. The top two qualifiers from each of the six regionals will go onto NCAA's in Dallas. So much gymnastics, this is what Spencer at the Balance Beam Situation is calling Gymnastics Christmas . I've gone through and to the best of my abilities,  I have picked my selections for the teams who will qualify out of their regional.  I have no real scientific analysis of who will win, so don't use my guesses to win money in Vegas... if they actually bet on gymnastics in Vegas.
