Another day of gymnastics history was made at the men's team final in Glasgow. The Japan men's team took the title for the first time since 1978, effectively ending the Chinese Men's team reign. The home team, Great Britain, took home another historic silver medal in this competition.

Women's team finals at the World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland have officially concluded. It was a huge day for Team USA, who successfully defended their team title and for Great Britain, who had a historic finish in the team finals, taking home the bronze medal after some uncharacteristic falls and mistakes from Russia landed them just off the medal podium for the first time since 2007.

Another day another meltdown - I think that should be the theme of this Worlds qualifications. At the moment, Team USA and Team China have completed their qualifications. There is still another subdivision to complete and subdivision as of this writing. Right now, USA is leading qualification with a 236.611, leading Russia by just over 5 points. Things didn't go as smooth as predicted however.

Surprise surprise (not really) Team USA pulled out another world championship win during today's team final. Team USA, led by Simone Biles and Kyla Ross, left no prisoners as they led their team to victory with a huge 6.693 lead over team China. Taking the bronze, team Russia, led by Aliya Mustafina. The ladies of team USA pulled out all the stops and performed near flawlessly while their competitors littered the floor with falls and mistakes.

While the European Championships are happening in Sofia, China is hosting the their national championships in Nanning, just four months before the World Championships will be held in the same city. Consider it the Chinese warm up to worlds.

The latest retirement of this quad is Chinese Gymnast, Zeng Siqi. The news has been floating around the gymternet for a while it seems.

Tan Sixin is probably best known as a member of the 2011 Bronze medal winning team at the World Championships in Tokyo.

This weekend saw the return of Sandra Izbasa at the Dutch Friendly meet this weekend while the Chinese Nationals got underway.

China's got a preliminary list of athletes selected for the World Championships in Antwerp at the end of September. This is a preliminary list and could be subject to change. So take this list with a grain of salt.

In 2008, at 16, Yang Yilin was an Olympic Gold Medalist with the Chinese team and she also had a bronze medal in the all-around and on the uneven bars. Today, the former Olympic champion leads a very different life from the life of a Chinese Gymnast. The 20-year-old is now a college student at Beijing Sports University in the department of competitive sports. Much to the horror of some die-hard gymnastics fans,  Yilin is now a cheerleader. Considering her competitive sports history with gymnastics, this is not an unusual transition. Her squad recently took first place in a competition.
