This year, the Longines Prize for Elegance was awarded to Switzerland's Giulia Steingruber and Great Britain's Max Whitlock. Picture from the Longines Website They were awarded the prize after the conclusion of the men's all-around final, Friday evening, selected by a jury (in bold  below).

History was made again during last night's women's all-around final in Glasgow, Scotland during the world championships. Simone Biles became the first woman to win three consecutive all-around titles. Gabby Douglas became the first returning Olympic Champion to medal in a worlds final in... forever. Larisa Iordache came back to win a bronze medal in the all-around after a disappointing qualification.

Giulia Steingruber of Switzerland is already known for being a European champion on vault and a strong contender for medals on the floor exercise. This year, Giulia is upgrading.

On the last day of the European Championships, the event finals, Beckie Downie got a gold medal for  Great Britain (finally) and Anna Pavlova marked her return to major international competition with shiny new silver medal and Larisa Iordache, Aliya Mustafina and Vanessa Ferrari all added more bling to their medal collections.

The American Cup this year should have been renamed "The Ebee Cup".  2012 Olympic Alternate Elizabeth "Ebee" Price is no longer the alternate but the champion.

Larisa Iordache and her partner Andrei Muntean took the top spot at the Swiss Cup, winning the title for Romania for the first time since 2007.

The final day of event finals and the final day of the World Championships. There were triumphs and some very surprising results.

The first day of the event finals turned out to be a great continuance from the high of yesterday's women's all around finals. USA put four more athletes on the medal podium with three silvers, a gold and a bronze medal.

So the results are in from the Euros and everyone is preparing now for their big World Championships reveal. As promised, I am posting recaps of the Euro's events in case you missed it or just want to relive the glory. The first thing I have to say is it was a fierce competition. Aliya Mustafina, Anastasia Grishina, Larisa Iordache were the triumphant victors on the podium stand after a fierce battle. For most of the competition, Larisa was the leader. Musty clawed her way up from third place to take her rightful place on   Larisa Iordache  came out in her yellow and black Pikachu leotard.
