Reason # 5,181,346 The Two Per Country Rule Sucks

Dear Bruno Grandi, Nellie Kim, FIG, et all, Yesterday, the USA took all of the podium spots in the men's slope style skiing competition. What does this have to do with gymnastics you say?

Baby Jordyn Wieber on the Beam

Jordyn Wieber is an incredible athlete. The girl is so tough, Superman is jealous of her. (She doesn't need to be from the planet Krypton to have the ability to fly!)

A Look Back at 2013 - Just a Few Highlights

2013 is almost over, as of 11:59 p.m. tonight, it will mark the close of another post Olympic year. There were new faces to cheer for, triumphs and tragedies and more. Here are some of the highlights of the past year:

Jordyn Wieber: World Champion, College Freshman

Jordyn Wieber has lived several different lives in her 18 years. Most notably, her 2011 World Championship win and her contribution team USA during the London Olympics as a part of the "Fierce Five." Her stellar resume includes three American Cup championship wins and countless other medals and awards. via Twitter These days, Jordyn is doing what many young men and women her age are doing and striking out on her own as a college freshman at the University of California in Los Angeles. She talked to USA Gymnastics earlier this week about her experiences as a college freshman and being recognized in the dining hall of all places.

Favorite Routines: Jordyn Wieber; Balance Beam; 2011 VISA National Championships

In 2011,  night two of the VISA National Championships, Jordyn Wieber was only one event away from securing her first all-around National title. Jordyn had been quietly drawing attention for years, winning the American Cup twice, once as a junior in 2009 and just earlier that year, beating world champion, Aliya Mustafina.

Nastiness Doesn't Look Good on Anyone.

On a Russian news website, there is a very nasty photo response to the interview that  Nellie Kim gave with ITAR-ITASS. In it, there is photos of Russians doing skills perfectly and photos of Americans. These are not only completely different skills, but they fail to recognize that the Russians have faults too, just as many as the Americans do. But the Americans with some faults have strong beautiful athletes too that also have beautiful execution. (Here is the link to the original page .) The problem is they compare only a few examples and they aren't even comparing the correct skills (comparing a pike jump on beam to a piked Tkatchev/Jaeger on the uneven bars? Give me a break). Nasty fan behavior is nothing new in sports, but that doesn't excuse deplorable behavior. Catherine of Beautiful Gymnastics says it beautifully.
