Elite season is full force in the US, with the upcoming Secret Classic and the P&G Championships.
USA Gymnastics has released the roster for the athletes competing at the upcoming Secret Classic, which serves as the final qualifier for the P&G National Championships (Aug. 21-24), which will determine the national team and serve as a qualifying step to USA's worlds team.
The list includes some seventy some athletes from all around the country. Returning favorites include 2013 World All-Around Champion, Simone Biles and silver medalist, Kyla Ross. World's alternate and second place finisher at the American Cup, Brenna Dowell is also making an appearance. Considering her unfortunate last minute shaft at the 2013 World Championships, in Antwerp, Belgium.
Also exciting, there will be nine junior girls who will be competing amongst the senior ranks. Notable names include little miss "I win everything all the time" Bailie Key, of Texas Dreams, one of Chow's latest proteges and beam prodigy, Norah Flatley and Emily Gaskins of Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy.
The Secret US Classic is being held Saturday, Aug. 2 in Chicago, Illinois at the Sears Centre. The junior session will commence the competition at 1 p.m. with the senior session at 6:30 p.m. local time.
