Belu & Bitang Return to Romanian Gymnastics and Tease Returns of Catalina Ponor and Sandra Izbasa.

After months of back and forth and an extended vacation, famed Romanian head coaches, Octavian Belu and Mariana Bitang have returned to the helm of Romanian Gymnastics. Oh and they might be bringing Catalina Ponor and Sandra Izbasa with them.

Bitang and Belu have been MIA since June departing shortly after the European Championships in April. It seems they've been drifting in and out of Romanian gymnastics since then.  I'm not sure why or how they left. But according to this article on GSP.ro, it has something to do with... something. Do I care? No, I'm so over it.

They've done this two or three times in the past two years and I can't even keep up now.  The Romanians are lacking strong leadership and they're not developing and bringing up their new talent as well as they should.  They have been strong leaders in the past for Romania and they have brought great success. But they're not as effective at managing this team as they once were.

Case in point, Nanning Worlds. While Larisa Iordache was successful at the World Championships in Nanning, the team came in fourth and did anyone else make event finals? The team is relying heavily on veterans like Larisa and Diana Bulimar. Diana has been injured the last two world championships.

It's time for new management, new blood over there. As for Catalina and Sandra? That seems to be a huge IF. According to this article. There seems to be a lot of talk, but no action.  The word according to the Gymternet is that will happen when pigs fly. Whatever, so over it.

Opinions? All mine.
